is important that we firstly ask some questions.

2. Why was the letter initially written to
3. Who were the recipients of the letter?
These questions are vital for understanding
the context of the letter, without which we may be misinterpreting or laying
our own ideas onto the text. It is also important to understand how the culture
which received the letter was different to our own.
I will be using the 'Inductive Method' of
Bible study throughout these series. This simply means that we will be using
the Bible to interpret the Bible. It is my sincere belief that Scripture never
contradicts itself, therefore, when seeking the meaning of words of phrases we
will see how they are used elsewhere in the Bible in order to interpret
